Chrysler included Tarbox Jeep of Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, on its list of 789 dealers nationwide that it plans to close as part of its restucturing. Six other Rhode Island Chrysler dealerships: America Chrysler Dodge Jeep (Westerly); Bald Hill Dodge Chrysler (Warwick); Bristol County Chrysler Dodge (Warren); Elmwood Dodge (East Providence); Metro Chrysler Jeep Dodge (Johnston); and Paul Bailey Chrysler Dodge (North Kingstown) survived the cut. Tarbox declined to comment on the news. "No comment," said Frederick Royce, who was recently named Chrysler, Jeep sales manager of the year. Owner Jim Tarbox did not return a telephone call. The company submitted the list to a bankruptcy court in Manhattan Thursday. The dealerships have the right to appeal the decision. CommentsLeave a comment |

As a concerned citizen who hates corporate abuse, I think it is outrageous that Tarbox Jeep has been targeted for closure mainly due to its past dealing s with Chrysler corporate - Tarbox sales figures as I understand them are far above national average-they have won awards for sales etc from Jeep/Chrysler. I do not now own a jeep now but when I did service was excellent. I am in no way related to anyone there.
