Recent DUI carnage include the deaths of two women who were passengers on motorcycles and a mother crippling her four-year old son.
A 35-year-old woman was killed at about 1:30 am Sunday when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger collided with an SUV in Coventry, according to The Providence Journal.
The driver of the SUV, Alecia Keegan, 40, was charged with several "alcohol-related offenses," according to the police. Keegan was released on $15,000 bail.
And in South Kingstown Monday, 21-year-old Henry Lamb was released on bail Monday morning, according to the Journal.
Lamb crashed his motorcycle in Richmond in July. His passenger, 20-year-old Kimberly Barbera, 20, died of her injuries.
Assistant Attorney General Steve Regine said that Lamb was traveling at least 55 mph in a 25-mph zone and had a blood alcohol level of 0.150 compared to the legal limit of 0.08.
He is accused of driving under the influence death resulting, driving to endanger death resulting and driving with a suspended license. A pretrial date was set for Nov. 2.
Meanwhile, in Orwell, Vt., 24-year old Heather Carpentier has been charged with driving drunk following an accident a week ago in which she collided with another car, according to The Associated Press.
The impact was so severe, it severed the spine of her 4-year old son who was in a booster seat.
Carpentier suffered a broken leg but her 1-year old son and the driver of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
