Bishop Louis Edward Gelineau, Bishop Emeritus of Providence, will be celebrating the funeral mass for Bob Tasca Sr. this Saturday, according to the Diocese of Providence.
It said Bishop Gelineau, who was Bishop of Providence from 1972 to 1997, has been close to the Tasca family for many years.
Meanwhile, Ford Motor Co.'s top executives will be attending Saturday's funeral of Bob Tasca Sr., according to his grandson, race car driver and Tasca Auto Group vice president Bob Tasca III.
He said those expected to attend include Ford president and CEO Alan Mulally, Executive Chairman William Clay "Bill" Ford Jr., Executive Vice President Mark Fields, Director of Global Marketing Elena Anne Ford, Board Member Edsel Ford II and Group Vice President Jim Farley.
The Tasca family have announced details of the wake and funeral arrangements for the family patriarch Bob Tasca Sr., Chairman of Cranston-based Tasca Automotive Group, who passed away on Friday at the age of 83.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, Providence.
Entombment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
Calling hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m., Friday 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
The family asks mourners to kindly omit flowers but rather to make donations in Mr. Tasca's memory to the Ford/Tasca Family Scholarship Fund, c/o Providence College, P.O. Box 834, Providence, RI 02901-9912.
