Fiat is bringing a 4-door version of its retro 500 design to North America, according to Automotive News.

The timing has not been established, not surprising given that Fiat has yet to bring any vehicle to North America since it bought out Chrysler last year. The 4-door will appear in Europe at the end of 2011.

One problem with the 4-door is that it loses the retro look of the 2-door, which has strong echoes of the classic Fiat 500, which was produced between 1957 and 1975.
