Mea Culpa: Joe Iannucelli's Ford is a 1940 coupe

Several of you have contacted me today to say that while you enjoyed the story about Joe Iannucelli and his former students who are restoring a car for him, my identification of the car was all wet.

Two mistakes: it was not a 1944 and it was not a sedan.

Most of you jumped on the date because as everyone knows there was no domestic auto production during World War II. Automakers were instead busy doing patriotic work turning out armaments.

In addition, I identified the car as a sedan while a photograph clearly shows a 2-door coupe.

Bill Gannon goes one step further to note the car is a Ford Tudor.

So apologies to all for a blooper that I cannot write off as a typo.

At the same time, the good news is I am gratified to have such attentive readers who otherwise say they enjoy my stories.

Thanks guys; I enjoy writing them!
