It seems to me that people who cover their vehicles in bumper stickers are either right-wing hotheads or left-wing well-wishers?
Many of us have a decal or two on our cars, showing support for the Patriots or Red Sox, for example, or those ovals with obscure lettering - ACK (Nantucket), GD (Grateful Dead), OBX (Outer Banks) - also popular.
But then there are those cars and trucks that literally shout at you. I passed one the other day festooned with angry messages for President Obama and Democrats in general. It's the "America, Love it or Leave it" philosophy of life.
Funny thing is that from a distance the car looked like it belonged to someone of the opposite political persuasion. These cars invariably have a peace sign and numerous decals urging the rest of us to "Hug a Tree for Peace," or the equivalent.
I confess I would love to be present if two such cars had a fender bender!
Happily most of us keep our opinions to ourselves. But I suppose it is the nature of those with strident opinions to want the rest of the world to know about them.
