Good parenting key in safety of teen drivers
Wow, this is great news! My son will be driving next year and as a parent, I am scared to death. Its good to know that there are studies that actually show and improvment with parent involvement.
Their own car vs asking? I would never have guessed that would make a difference but it make sense. Maybe I will re-think allowing my son to have his own wheels.
Thanks for this post..

GM bankruptcy plan includes government debt relief: source
Debt relief isn't considered as a pandemic cause it's acceptable to acquire. And it's not contagious. You will have to think more about it.

Backseat Driver: 2.7 million miles and still counting
Irv, I just have to say that you're one of the many people in this world that I'd love to sit and have a cup of coffee with.
A lot of folks out there miss the point that cars are simply transportation modules. Some may have nicer interiors. Some have a bit more power... and some, thankfully, are built to last for the ages. If they are conservatively driven and well maintained. Yours has obviously become the epitome of all three.
If you're ever interested... feel free to peruse through my writings. I cover Volvos quite a bit.. along with a lot of interesting folks in my travels.

I think you'll especially like the last article on the first page. Let me know if you ever find yourself in Georgia. My email is lang01c@mail.duke.edu . Oh, and I'm also taping a pilot in early October for a series on car buying so if you're ever near Tampa at that time, feel free to give me a buzz.

Yes Matt,
I had the engine rebuilt for the second time after 2,010,000 miles since the first rebuild. The pieces and parts were all measured to determine the amount of wear on the individual moving parts as well as the bore. There was surpringly little wear on the pistons, crank, cam bearings, etc. I can only assume this is due to following the manufacturer's schedule of maintenance all these years and driving sensibly. Then again, the Volvo engine is legendary in it's durablility.

Backseat Driver: Cash for Clunkers a modest success in cutting gas demand
Cash for clunkers may have stimulated new car sales. it's questionable whether it was a benefit to the environment when you consider the energy usage required to destroy 700,000 cars and that to manufacture new ones. In addtion any modest benefits of the program were more than over shadowed by its impact on auto repair shops, parts stores, used car sales and car donation charities.

Balise Auto of Warwick opens Subaru showroom
These people are assholes. They play games. They show one price online for a car, and then when you show up they try to say they dont know why the car was listed for that price online and try and sell you the same car for more in person. They wont honor their website prices.
Assholes, truly assholes. DONT BUY FROM BALISE, YOULL DO BETTER SOMEWHERE ELSE!
